70th State President - Joanie Cramer

Joanie immediately began chairing projects, but it wasn't until her team of rookies took second place in the Debate competition at the Fall Convention that she really got noticed. Kathy McNair (back then Coleman) convinced her to run for Chapter President in 2002. That's when the rest of North Carolina found out who she was, (including the 66th State President, Tom Cramer).

Under Joanie's Presidency, the Wilmington Jaycees placed either 1 st or 2 nd in POE each trimester and finished the year in first place overall in POE among being the largest growth chapter in the state. Joanie was recognized with the Linn D. Garibaldi Memorial Award as the most outstanding Local Jaycee President in North Carolina .

In 2003, Joanie moved to Huntersville, married Tom Cramer, became a Charlotte Jaycee and became one of the advisors to the St. Mark's Jaycees.

In 2004 she graduated Prime Training, and served as District Director for the Southwest Region. She was awarded the Micou Browne Service Award as the Most Outstanding District Director, the W.E. Sam Early Memorial Award (as selected by her Peers) a Lewis Gaston Memorial Award for Best Newsletter. Also in 2004 she was thrilled to work with Tom and Matt Weaver to Charter the Lake Norman Jaycees. Currently Joanie is a dual member of the Charlotte Jaycees and the Lake Norman Jaycees.

In 2005 Joanie served as your State Individual Development Vice President, graduated "Achieve Program" and was awarded the Jaycees Highest honor, a JCI Senatorship. She is Senator #65355.

Joanie was born in Lorain Ohio and is a 1992 graduate of Eastern Michigan University .

Joanie proved her passion and enthusiasm for the Jaycees in her role as 2006 State President. Her message for the year was “Get in the Game!” .
